Nicki Minaj Throws Shade At The BET Awards

Nicki Minaj

Last night’s BET Awards was the place to be! This year’s awards were hosted by comedian Chris Rock. While some people criticized Rock’s jokes claiming they were too commercial or disrespectful, others praised him and said he was one of the funniest hosts they’ve had in awhile. Although that was the talk of the Twitter world last night, another topic started to make it’s own trend.

Rapper Nicki Minaj took home her fifth BET Award for best Female Hip Hop Artist, but viewers are saying that although Nicki didn’t directly mention Iggy in her speech, the trash talking in her speech was directly towards the up and coming rapper.

This is always very, very emotional for me. Because this is my fifth year winning this award and I don’t take it for granted. I really don’t,” the 31-year-old musician said during her rambling acceptance speech. I thank god that I’ve been placed in a position to do something and represent women in a culture that is so male-driven. And I want you to know this: I want you to know that I have an album, The Pink Print, that’s coming out before the year ends. That’s not a plug, but it’s a plug! But my point is, what I want the world to know about Nicki Minaj is, that when you hear Nicki Minaj spit, Nicki Minaj wrote it.

She then posed and grinned and continued her speech.

No, no, no shade. No, no, no shade. I used to sit in the studio with Lil Wayne and I would literally take sometimes three, four days to write a verse. And he was like, ‘No, you can’t be taking days to write no verse, you gotta write your verse right here in the studio.’ And that’s why I love him ’til this day. Because he pushed me to push my pen, and I’m still one of the only emcees that’s out here spitting metaphors and making you think. And I really don’t even care if I get my credit or if I don’t. I don’t look at myself as a female rapper, because I know what I do. And I thank my fans because they…They might cut me off. This is so big. At one time black people was getting blacked out on the TV now they own their own network. This is big. This is different

Minaj then revealed something that nobody seen coming by revealing how she almost died.

I just wanna say that, the other day, literally I didn’t tell anyone this, I really thought I was about to die. Like I was saying my prayers to die. And I didn’t even wanna call the ambulance because I thought well if I call the ambulance, it’s gonna be on TMZ. And I would rather sit there and die. And it made me realize, I don’t care what anybody gotta say. I’ma do me. I’ma do me. And I hope and pray that BET continues to honor authenticity. And that’s all I’m gonna say about that,” the former American Idol judge said. “Stephen I love you. It is what it is. Young Money ’til the death of me.

Iggy Azalea has made no comment in regards to Nicki’s speech. The up and coming rapper took to the BET stage performing the song “Mediocre” with rapper T.I., then she performed her song “Fancy”.

Women Go Nuts Over This Attractive Felon

Jeremy Meeks Mug Shot Mugshot

Women all over the world have seem to fallen head over heels for Jeremy Meeks, a 30 year old convicted felon who was arrested on Wednesday on felony weapon charges during a sweep in the Western Ranch area of Stockton California.

After being booked, the Stockton police department posted Meeks mugshot on their Facebook page to raise awareness of the crime and arrest. I don’t think they were expecting to receive such a huge response with millions of likes and comments regarding Meeks’ attractiveness.

His mugshot currently has 21,000 likes, over 12,000 shares and 5,000 comments that include things like

“Omg come to mama”

“He can kidnap me anyday…hold me against my will lol”

“Holy hell I would arrest him too, he’s the hottest bad boy I’ve ever seen.”

Meeks is currently being held in San Joaquin County jail on $900,000 bail.

Disney’s Into The Woods Features New Plot Changes

Meryl Streep, In Into the Woods

When it was announced that Walt Disney Pictures would be producing a live action film adaption of Stephen Sondheim’s notable musical “Into The Woods”, fans were completely ecstatic.

What fans don’t know is that the same story is going to be brought to the big screen, along with some minor changes that have been added to broaden the film’s appeal.

Into the Woods tells the story of a baker (James Corden) and his wife (Emily Blunt) and their quest to have a child. It intertwines characters from a variety of fairy tales, including Cinderella (Anna Kendrick and Chris Pine), Little Red Riding Hood and the Wolf (Lilla Crawford and Johnny Depp) Jack and the Beanstalk (Daniel Huttlestone and Tracey Ullman) and Rapunzel (Mackenzie Mauzy). To round out the all star cast, Meryl Streep will portray the Witch.

Sondheim talked about the changes to the film at an event at Sardi’s in New York City. When a teacher raised concerns about the relationship between Little Red Riding Hood and the Wolf, citing “infidelity, a wolf being lascivious, that the whole connection with Red Riding Hood is sexual, Sondheim replied,

Well, you’ll be happy to know that Disney had the same objections. He added,  You will find in the movie that Rapunzel does not get killed, and the prince does not sleep with the [Baker’s Wife]…You know, if I were a Disney executive, I probably would say the same thing.

Though he seemed a little disappointed about some of the changes to his famous musical he remained content.

Censorship is part of our puritanical ethics, there has to be a point at which you don’t compromise anymore, but that may mean that you won’t get anyone to sell your painting or perform your musical. You have to deal with reality.

Another teacher asked if the song “Any Moment in the woods” would remain in the live screen adaption. Sondheim responded saying that the song has been cut from the film. Sondheim and his writing partner James Lapine fought for the inclusion of the song in the film, but Disney said they did not want Rapunzel to die. Sondheim and Lapine replotted and wrote a new song to cover it.

The film features two new songs, one called Rainbows and another song written specifically for the Witch.

Into the Woods, directed by Rob Marshall, hits theaters on Christmas Day.

OITNB Season Two Spoilers

Since it’s debut last July, Orange Is The New Black has become a household sensation, which makes the anticipation for the season two premiere even more exciting.

“Orange Is the New Black” follows Piper Chapman (Taylor Schilling), who gets sent to a Connecticut women’s prison on an old drug charge that involved smuggling money for ex-girlfriend Alex Vause (Laura Prepon), who happens to be serving time in the same facility. While there, Chapman gets indoctrinated into prison life with a series of scenes that have become memorable, like a bloody tampon given to her in a sandwich and a cellmate urinating on the floor.

Chapman, along with supporting characters like Red (Kate Mulgrew), a grim Russian cook; Sophia (Laverne Cox), a transgender former firefighter; Crazy Eyes (Uzo Aduba), who’s initially fixated on Chapman; and Pennsatucky (Taryn Manning), a disturbed drug addict, bring this dark comedy to life in a way that wouldn’t have been presented as well on an actual television network.

When HBO and Showtime turned down the offer to air the series, the creators of the show turned to Netflix. Since teaming up with the online streaming site, Orange is The New Black has become it’s most watched original series, and the show has already been renewed for a Third Season.

So what should viewers expect from Season 2?

1. Nudity.

I love graphic sex, the more sex the better,” Kohan said at an industry lunch back  in April. And the show has certainly put some of its performers on display right from showering get-go. This year may include male nudity, Kohan said, with a caveat: I don’t think it’s going to be erect.

2. Triangle tension. The romantic triangle between prison guards Pornstache (Pablo Schreiber), Bennett (Matt McGorry) and Daya (Dascha Polanco) is going to get messier this season

There’s kind of a tectonic shift happening between Pornstache, Bennett and Daya by the big point of the second season, and I think you might be surprised who you may be siding with in that triumvirate

3. More romance and back story. Big Boo (Lea DeLaria) and Nicky (Natasha Lyonne) are going to have a “sex contest,” and you’ll find out more about Red’s (Kate Mulgrew) Russian gangster past.

4. A rising writer. Larry’s had some success with his column about having a fiancée in prison, but his relationship with her is under alot of strain.

“If you’re going to keep Larry involved, there needs to be some sort of change, and there are some in store,” Jason Biggs, who plays Larry, told EW.

Those are just a few of the surprises in store for the second season. Orange Is The New Black season two premieres tomorrow on Netflix.

And The Baby Makes Three

Kourtney Kardashian and Scott Disick

PEOPLE Magazine has just confirmed that Kourtney Kardashian and her boyfriend Scott Disick are expecting their third child together.

A source close to the Kardashian’s say

Kourtney’s really excited but she’s nervous too. Three kids is a lot to handle! But she’s happy — she’s always wanted a big family with Scott.

The little bundle of joy is expected to arrive in December and will join siblings Penelope Scotland (23 months), and Mason Dash (4).

Disick and Kardashian have been dating for eight years but unlike her sisters, Kourtney has made no plans to walk down the aisle anytime soon. However the couple has been very open about their plans to expand their family.

Kourtney recently sat down with PEOPLE Magazine to promote the new “Kardashian Kids Clothing Line”

It’s just what came naturally to me. My family definitely all think I’m insane for having [the kids] in the bed and breastfeeding them for forever, I couldn’t care less.

The Kardashian’s have a busy life, which has some people questioning Kourtney having the time to care for a third child. Kourtney made it perfectly clear that her children always come first.

Knowing my priorities. Nothing comes before my children. I find that putting everything else in order of importance also helps to get everything done. Having an amazing partner doesn’t hurt either.
