Student Entertainment Events has done it again.
After bringing in E!’s Joel McHale to kickoff Homecoming Week, SEE has announced that Kevin Hart will be bringing some comedic flavor of his own to Terp Nation. Here is everything you need to know.
When is he coming?
Saturday, November 1st at Cole Field House. The day after Halloween. The show starts at 8 p.m. but doors open at 6:30 p.m.
Where can I get my ticket?
You can either purchase your ticket at umdtickets.com or at the Stamp Ticket Office which is next to Hoff Theater.
How much will tickets cost and when will they go on sale?
$25. The sale starts at midnight THIS TUESDAY!
Can I bring one of my friends who goes to another school?
NOPE. This event is exclusively for University of Maryland students with a UMD ID.
Is this the first time Hart has performed for a college students-only crowd?
NOPE. He’ll be promoting his new movie, “The Wedding Ringer,” and performing standup for Florida State students on November 21st.
Does Kevin Hart like the University of Maryland?
I would assume so, but you’ll have to ask him on November 1st. Interestingly, UMD was one of the first college campuses to screen his hit movie “Ride Along,” before it hit theaters. Ice Cube, his co-star, came to visit campus and took questions from the crowd that assembled at Hoff Theater last semester.
I don’t know who Kevin Hart is, what should I watch before I see him perform?
First of all, have you been living under a rock? Second of all, if you have a Netflix account, just search his name and a bunch of stand up specials will pop up. Here’s a 1-hour compilation of some of his best bits.
A lot of UMD students had a favorable reaction to this announcement on social media.
Some were also surprised that Hart’s performance was taking place on the same day as H7 (a huge Halloween party thrown every year by UMD’s chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Inc.).
