Halloween isn’t just for little kids anymore, thanks to a special promotion at Chipotle.
Getting into the Halloween spirit is easier for teens and adults with discounted meals at Chipotle as an incentive. With a special promotion offering three dollar “Booritos,” Chipotle merely requires customers to wear costumes to the store from 5 p.m. to close. The special deal began in 2008 and originally offered a free burrito only to customers dressed as Chipotle burritos. As the price of meat increased, the price of the burrito rose, but the criteria for the discount became just to wear any costume.
One million dollars of the proceeds for the night go to Chipotle Cultivate Foundation, a non-profit organization focused on food health and sustainability. Home to one of the highest grossing Chipotle restaurants in the country, College Park brought out residents as well as UMD students to create a long line down the sidewalk looking for discounted meals. There were many interesting costumes, check out some pictures!
